Kitchen Remodeling

A full kitchen remodel with DH Homes runs from the first walkthrough to the final punch list with one crew in the house. Cabinets come out of our shop, and the same people set them, run the counters, lay the floor, and paint. You are not waiting on a third company to show up.

Kitchen design

Before anything is torn out, you get a layout and renderings of your kitchen with the cabinets, counters, and finishes you are considering. It is much cheaper to move the range on paper than after the plumbing is roughed in.

Custom cabinet building

Every cabinet we install is built in our own shop in Boise, sized to your walls and your ceiling height. Nothing is ordered from a catalog and nothing is sourced out. The crew that builds them is the crew that installs them, so fit problems get solved in the shop, not in your kitchen.

Finish carpentry

Trim, molding, panels, and built-ins are fitted on site once the cabinets are in. This is the detail work that makes a new kitchen look like it was always part of the house instead of something added on.

Interior painting

Patching, prep, and final coats are done by the crew already working in the room, so wall color gets coordinated with the cabinets and trim rather than picked in a vacuum. The painter has seen the cabinets in person because he helped set them.

Install flooring

New floors are matched to the cabinets and counters you chose, and the tear out of the old floor is handled by the same crew. Where the new floor meets the rest of the house, we make the transition disappear.

Home addition construction

When the kitchen needs more room than the house has, we build it. Additions are framed and finished from the ground up by a crew that ran a construction and restoration company for 14 years before DH Homes, so the new square footage is built to the same standard as the cabinets going into it.

Living area remodeling

Most kitchens open onto a living room or family room, and once the kitchen is new the old room next to it shows its age. We remodel living areas to match, so the whole main floor reads as one project instead of two.

Drywall installation and repair

Drywall is hung, taped, and finished by our crew around new framing, plumbing, and electrical. That includes the patch work that comes with moving a wall or relocating a fixture, finished flat enough that you cannot find the seam after paint.

Framing

Removing a wall, adding a header, or building out new structure is handled in house, not subbed out. Framing is where a remodel either goes smoothly or falls behind, so we keep it with the people running the project.

Design and renderings

For additions and whole-home remodels, you get drawings and renderings before work starts. You see the layout and finishes ahead of time, and the decisions get made while changing them still costs nothing.

Bathroom remodeling

Full bathroom remodels from layout through the last coat of paint. Cabinetry, tile, fixtures, and finish work are handled by one crew from start to finish, the same way we run a kitchen.

Custom cabinetry

Vanities and bathroom storage are built for the room instead of ordered off a shelf, by the same shop that builds our kitchen cabinets. If your kitchen and bathroom are both in the project, the fit and finish match from room to room.

Shower and bathtub installation

Showers and tubs are installed or replaced as part of a bathroom remodel, from tear out through waterproofing and final fixtures. The waterproofing is the part nobody sees and the part that matters most, so we do not rush it.
